Today was training day two although I had to be at Disney University by 8:00am.  Luckily, I didn’t get lost on my way there! My first two hours were spent at my “Welcome to Lodging” class where the presenter, Scott, went over all of the different hotels Disney has to offer and some fun facts about all of them.  For example, did you know that John Lennon was staying at the Polynesian Resort when he signed the paperwork in his room to end the Beatles? Me neither!  Or that the Art of Animation Resort was originally supposed to be the other half of the Pop Century Resort, but they stopped construction on it due to lack of guests after 9/11?  By the time they decided to continue building the resort after park attendance increased, the imagineers had re-imagined their vision and it is now the only 3-diamond value resort on property (the other value resorts are 2-diamond)!  Also if you combine all three of the All-Star value resorts it is considered the 5th largest resort in the world!

After my first class I headed to a custodial specific class.   I learned a whole bunch of great stuff like how to clean up vomit, blood, needles, gum, and sharp objects. It was  just as about as exciting as you can probably imagine. The two facilitators we had though were a lot of fun, I could tell they love their jobs.

Later in the day I had to do some online training, and then they sent me over to costuming to pick up a pair of shoes.  As custodial we get shoes provided to us for free!  No, they are not cute.

I met up with Cassie and Mayra after clocking out and gave them a ride back to the apartment.  When we got home, Gretta and Stephanie had gone to Epcot so Cristina, Cassie, Mayra, and I headed to Hollywood Studios.  It was Cassie’s first time visiting the park so we did all of the big rides.  We started out on the Great Movie Ride and then we got fast passes for Tower of Terror and the Rockin’ Roller Coaster.  We had a fun time, and I got my first Mickey bar!

The sky started to get black so we figured we’d head home before a storm came.  I needed gas though so we stopped a gas station and Sonic.  Chili cheese fries are perfect for any occasion. We then headed home and went to bed not long after!
