First of all, I apologize for my lack of posting. The month of July was crazy busy but I am trying to get back on track. I will try to go back and update as much as I can and add pictures soon!
Today was a long day. I woke up in the morning and was extremely tired because I had worked 16 hours the day before and I also got a cold so I wasn’t feeling too great. I picked up Greg from his apartment at 7am and we stopped at Starbucks. I got a skinny vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso. It was necessary. I was so tired that I decided to buy a breakfast burrito from Captain Cooks the quick service restaurant at the Polynesian. I was so excited about getting my burrito that I left my work shoes in my car and had to run back to get them ten minutes before my shift started.
After running to my car to grab my shoes, I headed to Tango (the employee building) for our morning meeting and to get my keys. When I got there, one of the leaders said they had an ADO available for custodial. An ADO means that you get an “authorized day off”. As soon as she said she had an ADO I raised my hand and a couple of my coworkers pointed at me. They told me to have a seat and after everyone got their keys she said I could go home-dreams do come true! I ran back to the locker room, changed, grabbed my breakfast burrito, and raced to my car. I got home about 9am, went to bed, and woke up at 1:15pm. I was so tired.
Unfortunately the ADO was only for the morning shift so I had to go back to work at 3:30pm for the night shift. I still didn’t feel good when I woke up but at least I was well rested. I got to work the Luau at night which was perfect because there is no Luau on Sundays. Overall, it was a fairly easy night and it went rather quickly. I got dinner again from Capitan Cooks-one of the workers recommending a grilled chicken sandwich with pineapple salsa, cheddar, bacon, and teriyaki sauce so thats what I got. It was quite tasty.
